Bridget, crosses and a little chocolat
Talk about loosing track of time. I had no idea that this was the night that we sprang forward into daylight savings time until someone mentioned it this evening at a Sunday school party. Argh. Clock says 12:26 -- it's really 1:26.
Anyway, we went to a Sunday school dinner and a movie party this evening. We made spinach and cheese crepes, tomato herb salad, chocolate fondue, and hot chocolate. Can you guess the movie? Chocolat.
It was a great evening, and I have thoughts to share about the movie, but have you noticed the time? I think it's time for bed.
We just finished getting ready for Children's Church, and I'll share what we're going to talk about tomorrow:
- A poem about Bridget of Kildare that can be found here.
- We're going to talk a little bit about generosity.
- S and I made Bridget crosses for the kids to have as a reminder (out of purple and white pipe cleaners -- not as nice looking as the ones traditionally made out of reeds, but who has reeds?)
- We're going to make a giant thank you card for the congregation for their Pennies from Heaven generosity.
- If we have time, I have pipe cleaners for the kids to try to make crosses of their own, but it took S and I forever to figure it out, so here's hoping we run out of time.
- Tomorrow is communion, so we'll probably sneak the kids back in to share communion with their parents.
