Explosion of Salt and Light

I've already posted today, but this is an "extra." I was reading one of the knitting blogs I follow, and found this quote. The writer of the blog found it as she was walking through her neighborhood. It was written on a door of an apartment building being rehabbed in East Village, Chicago. (Teresa has an actual photo of the door, but I didn't want to steal it, so click on "knitting blogs" to see the original.) I have no idea what the author meant by it, but I thought it was interesting, and it says something to me:

"I am an explosion of salt and light and family letters."

Hmm.

Josh's question as we drove to school this morning, "I wonder what the inside of paper looks like." Of course he does.
