Climbing trees
Take a look at these verses from Luke 19:2-4:
A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way.As I read this, what caught my attention is Zacchaeus' persistence. He can't see over the crowds, so he climbs a tree. He didn't let obstacles block his way.
Do we do that with our faith? Do we put any effort into becoming close to God, or do we just sit around and wait for it to happen? Do we climb any trees to get closer to God?
