Leaf and Leaf and Leaf Raking
This is going to be an image-heavy post, so be warned.
We helped today with a youth group fundraiser -- raking leaves for members of the congregation. We had fun, and we raked A LOT of leaves -- even though we didn't finish the yard.
See the image to the right, and all the leaves? I took that picture after we had been raking a while, but those leaves covered the back yard at the house where we were working.
How about some snipets of conversation?
Ben: I'm working. I know you can't tell, but I'm making progress.
Steve: Are you working on that pile of leaves? That's where I've been dumping the ones from up here!
Me: G, what's your goal with that leaf blower? G: To move all of these leaves -- over there!
(and so he just kept on blowing and blowing!)
Pam: I should have known that Jeff would have sent this good-for-nothing group over here to work.
Steve: Call him.
Me: Call him, and get him to remove us from the job. Please.
Pam: Are you union?
Steve: Yes, and it's time for our break.
Chuck: We usually start working on this in November and work through December. We quit in the winter, and then come back in early spring to finish before I start mowing again.
Me: And we're spending two hours on it? It takes him an entire season.
Notice below the pile of leaves that have been raked. Notice also that Ben broke his rake (actually, right at the beginning). It was the gloves that Steve loaned him -- he didn't know his own strength.
It was hard work, but we had a great time.
